Director of Finance

Position Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Director of Finance who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to build, improve, and scale finance operations. This is not a purely oversight role, you’ll be in the details, owning the numbers, improving processes, and partnering closely with the business.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening our financial foundation as we grow, bringing structure where needed while keeping agility.
 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Finance Operations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build team capabilities in modern finance practices, including automation, analytics, and digital tools.
  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Financial Reporting & Controls
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting and preparation of financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with tax, audit, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage multi-entity and international accounting operations, including consolidations.
Planning, Analysis & Treasury
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with business leaders to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive accountability.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relationships across multiple entities and currencies.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Support ERP optimization, system integrations, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the finance function.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
  • Experience in a professional services, engineering, or technology environment is an asset
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency environments
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
